How does it work?
The document opens in a web browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
It names the sender and goes to one named address; the link stops after completion or expiry.
A signing link is issued to one named email address and stops working once the request is completed or expires.
A copy of the completed document, with its audit trail, is available to every party who signed it.
Safety first when signing
If a request looks wrong, verify it before signing. Contact the sending organisation using details already held,
such as a number from a previous invoice or an existing contact, rather than any phone number or address given in the
email itself. A genuine sender will confirm the request without objection.
Key features of Ensign by Enapps
Legal standing
Produces an electronic signature recognised for commercial agreements in the UK and the EU.
Tamper evidence
The completed PDF is sealed, so any alteration made after signing is detectable in a standard PDF reader.
Audit trail
Each completed document carries a record of who signed, at what time, and from which address and device.
Data location
All documents are processed and held on infrastructure in the European Union.
Identity check
A one-time code sent to the signer’s email address can be required before a document opens.
Link expiry
Signing requests carry a fixed expiry date set by the sender, after which the link will not open the document.
